Cesarini Sforza's Chardonnay and Pinot Nero (here, an 85-15 blend) come from the Collina della Trentodoc subzone, with altitudes ranging from 1,200 to 2,200 feet. The modest 5g/L dosage here allows the freshness of the Chardonnay and the spicy character of the Pinot Noir to display admirable clarity and purity; there are honestly a number of Rosé Champagnes to which we'd prefer this gem! This cuvée receives 24-30 months on the lees, and yields are a miserly 10 hectoliters per hectare, making it an outstanding value, too.
