The tiny appellation of Verduno, in the northwestern corner of Barolo, is one of the last bastions of the rare Pelaverga grape variety. This light-colored, peppery, strawberry-scented wine is alleged to be an aphrodisiac ('basadone' means 'little kiss' in the local dialect)...but we'll have to let our clients get back to us on the veracity of that claim!
