Enrico Angiolini's Fattoria La Torre sits at the intersection of the provinces of Florence, Siena and Pisa (and yes, there's a commanding tower here!), so it's no surprise that top quality Vernaccia is a specialty of the house. The entire estate moved away from volume production in 2021, and the Carrobacco comes from the fruit of 30 year-old vines that was cropped at a scant 5 tons per hectare. 12 months in neutral French oak adds both polish and texture. Most Vernaccia in the American market is of the "no oak", stainless steel-fermented variety, but this serious white wine offers quite a step up from that!
