Napa Cabernet fans will recognize the name "Eisele" from years of Joseph Phelps wines coming from this exceptional vineyard. Now, François-Henri Pinault is the proprietor, and he's moved this estate- located in Chiles Valley, one of Napa's coolest growing zones- into biodynamics. The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (15% Merlot), issuing from the property's clay-rich volcanic soils, features the typical Eisele signature of black tea, anise and pencil shavings on the nose, and its structure is beginning to give way enough to make this wine quite approachable. Organic and biodynamic.
