We always look to Wasenhaus' Burgundy-trained team of Christoph Wolber and Alexander Götze to provide us with Pinot Noir that's intricate and complex, yet free of the heavy, clunky qualities that mar lesser Baden wines. Their minimal sulfur, hands-off approach results in wines that have convinced our clients that Baden is the most exciting appellation in Europe for Pinot Noir. Their entry-level wine is the energetic and pure Grand Ordinaire, Pinot Noir from 100% whole bunch, vinified 100% via carbonic maceration for 12 days under CO2, without any extraction. It's pressed off and finishes fermentation as juice, 50% in a stainless-steel tank and 50% in barrels. Bottled without any sulfur addition.
